The Greater London Authority (GLA) has launched procurement of the following projects that support three of the Mayor of London’s Creative Enterprise Zones (CEZs):
- Brixton (Lambeth): This £500k project will complement the Brixton CEZ. It has two focused funding streams: Young people into work will help young people to access employment support and training and find jobs in the creative industries. It will work with businesses in the Brixton CEZ and wider borough to broker work placements and job opportunities. In work progression will support people working in creative businesses in the Brixton CEZ and wider borough to gain skills, grow their business and progress in work.
- Croydon: This £400k project will help Croydon residents to access employment support and training and find employment in the creative industries, specifically the music sector. It will work with businesses in the Croydon CEZ to broker work placements and employment opportunities. In addition to addressing skills and labour shortages it will look to increase the participation of under-represented groups within the creative sector.
- Hounslow: This £500k project will help Hounslow residents to access employment support and training and find employment in the creative industries, specifically the screen sector. It will also support people already working in creative businesses in the Hounslow CEZ to gain skills to enable them to progress further in their careers and to help grow the businesses they work within. It will actively look to increase the participation of under-represented groups within the creative sector.
The above projects will run from April 2021 to June 2023.
