Procurement of devolved Adult Education Budget (AEB) provision to be delivered across the North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) area from 1 August 2020 was formally launched at a procurement launch event held on 25 October.
Procured AEB will be split across three Lots as follows:
- Lot 1 – Unemployed: Focused on supporting residents to re-engage, progress and achieve a successful sustainable outcome. Indicative Lot value is £2m per year with a minimum contract value of £50,000 and maximum contract value of £500,000
- Lot 2 – Employed: Focused on two options (a) Low Paid Low Skilled and (b) Increasing Level 2 and Level 3 Qualifications. Indicative Lot value is £4m per year with a minimum contract value of £100,000 and maximum contract value of £1,000,000
- Lot 3 – Innovative Provision: Focused on delivering highly responsive provision that is targeted and specific to a range of residents’ needs which require more flexibility and intensity than is currently available through core AEB provision. Indicative Lot value is £600,000 with a minimum contract value of £25,000 and maximum contract value of £150,000

To take part, tenders will have to be submitted via the NEPO tendering portal by 13 December 2019 following publication of the OJEU Notice which is scheduled for week commencing 4 November.
