The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) have announced that the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) will close for new applications from midnight on Wednesday 15 April as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. This includes second applications from providers that have already applied in the last 12 months.
They also announced a review of their approach to RoATP, including consulting with the sector. No date has been provided in respect of when the Register will re-open for applications.
Further information is available in the ESFA’s 1 April 2020 further education Update.
This is therefore the last chance for organisations to join RoATP for the foreseeable future.
Please get in touch to discuss submitting an application before the Register closes for new new applications, although given the limited time available organisations wishing to join need to give careful consideration before doing so.
Update – 16 April
The ESFA announced in their 15 April 2020 further education update that employers that pay the Apprenticeship Levy and who employ critical workers (as defined by Department for Employment’s advice to schools) , may be permitted to apply to the RoATP employer provider route by exception whilst the Register is closed. Levy paying employers looking to apply to RoATP should contact their Account Manager in the National Apprenticeship Service for further information.
