The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) have launched their second Adult Education Budget (AEB) bidding round to procure a total of £4m of additional AEB provision. Contracts will initially run for 15 months from May 2020 with an option to extend for a further year to July 2020. The procurement is focused on 3 Lots:
- Lot 4 – Support for those in Employment (£2.5m): targeted at equipping adult learners currently in low-skilled or low-paid work with new or improved skills that will lead to in-work progression or a new career path
- Lot 5 – Birmingham Commonwealth Games (£1m): targeted at equipping residents with the skills required to secure employment through the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022
- Lot 6 – Coventry City of Culture (£500k): targeted at equipping residents with the skills required to secure employment through the Coventry City of Culture in 2021
(Note that Lots 1-3 were procured in 2019.)
The WMCA are holding a “meet the buyer” event on 12 February 2020 in Birmingham city centre to enable potential bidders to seek clarification in respect of the tender process and associated documents. Providers can register to attend the event on Eventbrite.
Tenders have to be submitted via the WMCA Bravo website by midday on 6 March 2020.
